Dr. Meyer served on the Executive Board of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior for 10 years, including 6 years in the presidential track. She regularly accepts veterinary student externs from the US and abroad, and in 2010, was the recipient of the annual Humane Award for her volunteer work with the Montgomery County Humane Society.
Dr. E. Kathryn Meyer graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. For 2 years as a Penn undergraduate and for 4 years as a veterinary student, she worked at Penn's Behavior Clinic with veterinary behaviorist, Dr. Victoria Voith. After 9 years in general clinical practice, Dr. Meyer operated a national adverse event reporting program for veterinary products at the United States Pharmacopeia for 5 years.
Dr. Meyer returned to clinical veterinary practice in 2000, focusing on behavioral problems in pets. She has attended more than 300 hours of continuing education in behavior medicine and saw clinical cases with Dr. Ilana Reisner at the University of Pennsylvania Behavior Clinic between 2000 and 2003.
